Captain LaPonda J. Fitchpatrick (Ret.), SHRM-SCP, DEI, IDI©  

CEO, LaPonda J. Fitchpatrick, Training and Consulting for the Real World™ 


Founded in 2001, shortly after the tragic events of 9/11, Captain LaPonda Fitchpatrick (Ret.) is the CEO of her law enforcement, human resources management, and aviation security firm. She is an internationally recognized expert and trainer with over 36 years of law enforcement and training experience. 


Having a passion for Human Resources Management with a focus on non-discrimination, gender equality, diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias, collective bargaining, and police procedural justice, LaPonda helps organizations improve their service to both their internal and external customers by understanding that an organization is only as good as its culture and its employees. LaPonda performs comprehensive organizational analyses, employee belonging and inclusion surveys, and provides employee coaching, develops strategic plans and programs, and provides comprehensive training on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, cultural competency, unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, and workplace violence, among other Human Resources management and people systems issues. 
With a diverse consultancy of local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies, government organizations, and corporate clients, she develops policies and procedures for safety, security systems, methods and practices, and emergency management and conducts security risk and threat assessments and develops field, classroom, and online training courses. 


LaPonda helps organizations provide their teams with the essential tools and insights necessary to add value to their workforce. She is a Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), a Qualified Administrator (QA) for the Intercultural Development Inventory© (IDI©) assessment tool, DiSC® and The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team® Assessment Authorized Partner. She is also authorized to utilize The Centre for Global Inclusion Global Diversity & Inclusion Benchmarks, Standards for Organizations Around the World assessment tool. LaPonda graduated from UCLA with a degree in Sociology, where her focus was on global diversity. She received her DEIA and Implicit Bias certification from Cornell University.
